Todd Finnemore, Psy.D.Geropsychologist

    The practice of psychotherapy and neuropsychological assessment with the elderly has motivated Dr. Finnemore to become a Geropsychologist and help people relax and find vitality through the transitions of later life development.  Dr. Finnemore received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. As an undergraduate, he studied philosophy and eastern religions at the University of Colorado and martial arts in Japan. He came to San Francisco to study psychology, where he worked at the Institute on Aging for his doctoral internship.  Dr. Finnemore wrote his dissertation on depression and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and he was a post-doctoral fellow in psychoanalytic Geropsychology at Access Institute.  Dr. Finnemore is active in Tai Chi and Vipassana practice, and was a San Francisco Zen Hospice volunteer.  He most recently worked with individuals experiencing chronic and severe mental illness as a unit psychologist at Napa State Hospital and served as the Director of Clinical Services at Access Institute in San Francisco.
