Bilingual ACSW Training Program

Our Bilingual ACSW Training Program equips emerging social workers with supervised experience and mentorship to provide compassionate, culturally responsive care in both English and Spanish.

Program Benefits

Trainees gain experience in a variety of behavioral health modalities, building the skills needed to provide high quality, evidence-based, and patient centered care.

Assessment

Trainees receive comprehensive training in behavioral health assessments, learning how to evaluate patient needs with accuracy and care. Through supervised practice, they develop the skills to use assessments as a foundation for effective, patient-centered treatment planning.

Individual Treatment

Trainees receive focused instruction in individual treatment, learning how to design and deliver care plans that address each patient’s unique goals and challenges. Through supervision and practice, they develop the skills to provide effective, compassionate, and person-centered therapy.

Group Treatment

Trainees are trained in facilitating group treatment, gaining the skills to create safe, supportive spaces where patients can learn and heal together. Through guided practice, they develop strategies to foster connection, resilience, and recovery within a group setting.

Consultation

Trainees receive guidance in developing consultation skills, learning how to collaborate effectively with medical and behavioral health teams. This training helps them integrate care, support providers, and ensure patients receive well-rounded, coordinated services.

About the Program

At Petaluma Health Center, we align our mission, vision, and values to support a strengths-based, integrated behavioral health model rooted in wellness and recovery. Our Associate Training Program offers post-master’s graduates supervised experience toward licensure in California, preparing them to become skilled, compassionate clinicians and leaders.
Through hands-on training in a primary care setting, Associates gain expertise in assessment, individual and group therapy, consultation, and culturally responsive care. Each trainee receives mentorship and support to grow as a clinician who is trauma-aware, community-focused, and equipped to reduce barriers to behavioral health services.
We believe this mentored program is a vital investment in the next generation of integrated behavioral health professionals—ensuring our community has access to care that is inclusive, responsive, and recovery-oriented.
Our goal is to mentor and support graduates as they grow into highly skilled, culturally responsive, and trauma-aware clinicians who reflect and represent the communities we serve. We believe that investing in a mentored trainee program is essential to developing the next generation of Integrated Behavioral Health clinicians and leaders.
