What to Expect

Acupuncture is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a whole medicine system developed in China three to four thousand years ago. An acupuncture treatment is a medical visit where the acupuncturist will talk to you about your health history and current health concerns, they will then place small needles into the skin.

Acupuncture treatments are intended to restore the natural balance in one’s body and are commonly used to reduce pain, but can also treat various physical and emotional conditions, including allergies, anxiety, depression and digestive issues.

Acupuncture treatments are covered by Medi-Cal and PHC’s sliding fee program. Check eligibility criteria and download the application on our Insurance & Costs page.
