Pedro Toledo Is Chief Executive Officer of Petaluma Health Center. Since joining in 2014, he has spearheaded efforts to improve the health of rural communities by expanding PHC to include 8 additional health care delivery sites. Under his leadership, PHC has become one of the largest non-profit organizations in the North Bay, serving over 42,000 people annually through more than 220,000 health care visits across 9 health clinic sites in Sonoma County and West Marin.
Recognized as a rural health leader, Pedro is actively engaged in advocating for legislation and policies that widen the circle of opportunity for people in rural and agricultural communities. He serves on the Boards of Directors for the National Association of Community Health Centers, the California Primary Care Association, and Partnership HealthPlan of California.
Pedro is one of the 14 Californians selected to serve on the 2020 California Citizen’s Redistricting Commission, which is charged with the critically important task of re-drawing the political lines for the U.S. House of Representatives, State Senate, State Assembly, and Board of Equalization.
He has received dozens of accolades, including MillerCoors Lideres of the Year Award, the Hero in the Fight Award from the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and the North Bay Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Award.
Pedro earned a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and master’s degree in Sociology from Stanford University, a law degree from Cornell University Law School in Ithaca, NY, and a Master’s in Healthcare Services Administration from Georgetown University.
