Rebecca Katz, MD

Interim Chief Medical Officer

Rebecca Katz, MD, serves as Interim Chief Medical Officer at Petaluma Health Center. She joined PHC in 2010 and has held multiple clinical and leadership roles over the past fifteen years. In addition to her role as a family physician, she has provided prenatal care and delivered babies at Petaluma Valley Hospital, served as a hospitalist, and cared for patients in skilled nursing facilities. She also trained in medical acupuncture. Dr. Katz has played a key role in advancing care delivery at PHC, leading initiatives in primary care redesign, telehealth, expansion of services to new sites. She is passionate about ensuring that all members of the community—particularly those facing barriers to care—receive high-quality, patient-centered services. Born and raised in rural Northern California, Dr. Katz was introduced early to the mission of community health. She earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Bryn Mawr College and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, San Francisco. She completed her residency at the Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency. Outside of her professional work, Dr. Katz enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, gardening, cooking, and practicing mindfulness meditation.
