Donated Health Care Products Help Expand Access to Prevention-Focused Dental Care for Low-Income Children in Southern Sonoma County
April 2016 – The Petaluma Health Center (PHC) has received a donation of health care products under a grant from the Henry Schein Cares Global Product Donation Program. Through this program, Henry Schein, Inc., the world’s largest provider of health care products and services provides non-profit organizations with in-kind supplies and equipment donations valued up to $25,000.
The grant will enable the Petaluma Health Center to more effectively carry out its mission and expand its ability to provide high quality dental care to low income, medically underserved children in Southern Sonoma County. Henry Schein Cares aims to expand access to health care for underserved and at-risk populations around the world by promoting wellness, prevention, treatment and education; providing emergency preparedness and relief; and building health care capacity.
“Petaluma Health Center is committed to ensuring that every person in Sonoma County has access to prevention-focused dental care,” said Ramona English, DMD, Petaluma Health Center’s Dental Director. “Henry Schein’s support will help us to improve oral health access for hundreds of low-income and uninsured people in our community.”
The Petaluma Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that strives to care for the “whole” individual by providing excellent care for all patients, regardless of one’s ability to pay for services. The PHC is committed to ‘integrative’ health, wellness and prevention services – such as intensive case management and patient navigation services, and depression, anxiety and chronic pain management and exercise classes.
